Immunocompromised Association’s Mission

Immunocompromised Association provides education where needed and safer social support for immunocompromised individuals, reducing inherent health risks in the community.

About Immunocompromised Association

Immunocompromised Association is an organization focused on promoting public awareness for immunocompromised patients. We are dedicated to improving the lives of patients who are immunocompromised due to disease or treatment, including those with primary or secondary immunodeficiencies, autoimmune disorders, transplant recipients, and anyone with a health condition who would benefit from our mission. We are committed to reducing inherent health risks for immunocompromised individuals to have more fulfilling lives.

A healthy immune system acts as protection from bacteria, viruses, and other airborne particles that can lead to infection. Certain disorders and medical treatments can suppress the immune system significantly. A suppressed immune system leaves a person vulnerable to illness, sometimes dangerously so. Immune system suppression makes it difficult for affected people to live daily lives, as ordinary exposure to commonplace pathogens can lead to illness or death.

Immunocompromised Association highlights the stories of the immunocompromised community through videos, blog posts, and art. If you would like to share your story with us, reach out through our form or by emailing info@ThinkofmePlease.org today.

Mr. Ginsburg has a simple and generous philosophy of life: “to never forget the importance of the community in which you are creating new development and to give back as much and as often as possible.”

Programs

Immunocompromised Association creates programs for the immunocompromised community to promote awareness, education, and support.

Our first awareness resource is the Immunocompromised Door Hanger. Our door hangers were inspired by patient and family stories showing a need for signage to non-verbally communicate immunocompromised status without sharing personal health information. They can be used at home, in medical centers, and out in the community to communicate immunocompromised status to family, friends, healthcare providers, coworkers, and other visitors to immunocompromised individuals’ rooms and homes.

To support immunocompromised individuals and their caregivers or care partners, we host completely virtual events to allow individuals to safely connect with each other without the health risks of in-person gatherings. Our current offerings include:

Immunocompromised Association appreciates your support!

Now, more than ever, we need your help to create and distribute educational materials to hospitals, health centers, doctors’ offices, schools, restaurants, and workplaces. We will use the money we raise to spread this simple, but important, message: If you are sick, please do not interact with individuals who are immunosuppressed. Their lives could depend on it.

Thank you for your consideration.
