Monthly Support Groups
Need to talk with people who understand what life is like being immunocompromised or caring for someone who is? We have support groups throughout the month to support you through your health journey, including new groups for chronic illness and women’s health.
All of our groups are free to attend and hosted over Zoom for the immunocompromised community:
- Fiber Crafts Friday on April 10th and 24th at 12:00 PM ET
- Join this online group hosted by volunteer Lauren Hand every other Friday at 12:00 PM to knit, crochet, embroider, or another craft of your choice and chat with others in the immunocompromised community!
- Community Support Group on April 14th at 3:00 PM ET
- Facilitated by Summer Katz, MA, LMHC of Seasons of Hope Counseling on the second Tuesday of every month at 3:00 PM ET, this community support group is for immunocompromised people and their care partners/caregivers or loved ones to connect and share their stories.
- NEW: Chronic Illness Support Group on April 16th and 29th at 7:00 PM ET
- This community support group is for community members to find peer support around their experiences with chronic illness every other Wednesday. Note that the next meeting has moved to Thursday, April 16th, not Wednesday. Facilitator Mel Coleman graduated with her Bachelors in Psychology in 2020, and is currently completing her Masters in Counseling now. She also has lived experience with neurodivergence and chronic illness.

- Facilitated at Immunocompromised Association by Lauren Mendelsohn of Our Strength Within on the last Thursday of every month at 3:00 PM ET, this peer support group is for immunocompromised people and those with invisible illnesses to come together as a community and share their stories. We will not be meeting like usual on March 26th as we will be supporting Lauren’s Sip & Support event that evening live in Orlando.
- NEW: Women’s Support Group starting May 14th at 3:30 PM ET
- Led by volunteer Louise Sprimont, health strategist and founder of Sprimont Health, this group is for women to discuss their experiences with compromised immune systems on the second Thursday of every month at 3:30 PM ET.
In-Person Events
Bridging Autoimmunity 2026
Immunocompromised Association will be in attendance with a booth at the Autoimmune Forum hosted by IMIDeology on April 10–11 in Bellevue, Washington.

Bridging Autoimmunity 2026 brings together patients, clinicians, researchers, and industry leaders to break silos and advance collaboration in autoimmune research and care. Through panels, forums, and networking, we’re reimagining how science and lived experience drive meaningful progress.
Beyond dialogue, the event offers meaningful opportunities to connect and collaborate. Attendees can network with peers across sectors, build partnerships with leading organizations, and engage directly with patients driving change. Together, we’re creating a shared space to reimagine the future of autoimmune understanding, innovation, and care.

In Case You Missed It
In March, Lauren Mendelsohn hosed our first Sip & Support fundraiser! We appreciate every one of you who supported by donating, attending, or bidding on auction items through the first annual Sip & Support campaign. You have helped us raise over $13,000 to support our mission to education where needed and safer social support for immunocompromised individuals, reducing inherent health risks in the community.

In March, we attended and tabled at the Seattle Rare Disease Fair to spread awareness and share our resources with the rare disease community in the Pacific Northwest. Thank you to the NW Rare Disease Coalition inviting us to this event!

Resources & Support
Celebration Online
Looking for a fun, safe way to celebrate a special date with your loved ones? Celebration Online is here for you. Our celebrations are different, catered to immunocompromised individuals who cannot safely host in-person parties. Whether you are celebrating from your home or your hospital room, if you have a device with an internet connection, you can have a party.
Whether you are celebrating a birthday, transplant or diagnosis anniversary, another special date in your life, or just need to see your loved ones during a hospital admission, you should be able to do it safely, without the infection risks of in-person gatherings. We want to host your celebration online with games, laughter, and friendly faces.
The Immunocompromised Door Hanger
This tool is our first piece of signage available for patients to non-verbally communicate their immunocompromised status without sharing personal health information. These door hangers were inspired by patients and families who shared stories of encounters with healthcare providers, coworkers, friends, and family who entered their rooms or homes without thinking to take precautions to avoid getting them sick. Learn more and request yours for free on our website!

Join the ImmuKNOWnetwork on Facebook!
Join our private Facebook group to connect with other participants and stay in touch outside of our regular events! This is a great place to post your stories, share suggestions for what you want to see from us, chat about self-advocacy and health management tips and tricks, and stay up to date with all our latest updates. Let’s stay in touch!
Volunteer Opportunities
Do you have experience leading classes, games, or hobby groups? Do you have an idea for a new monthly group or workshop? Let us know! We are always getting to know our community members and discussing opportunities that may be a good match for you to build our community resources.
We want to recognize the hard work of our volunteers who help make our programming possible, and we are so thankful for your support!
We are currently looking for support spreading the word about our programs, developing our social media presence, helping plan events and develop our educational and advocacy programs, and administrative support.
Our volunteers can also support us by sharing our resources with healthcare providers or on social media. This is one of the simplest ways to support our mission! Reach out to us and we can provide you with brochures and other materials you can share in your medical appointments and community health centers.
If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity, or are part of a company that would be interested in sponsoring or matching donations to support our organization’s mission, please reach out to events@ImmunocompromisedAssociation.org or call us at 407-310-7595.

Premier Infectious Disease Care is one of the first medical offices to share our resources in their exam rooms! We are honored to partner with healthcare facilities to create safer, healthier communities
We always appreciate support from our community to grow together, and volunteers are the heart of our programs. Interested in learning how to get involved? Send us a message today at events@ImmunocompromisedAssociation.org or call us at 407-310-7595.
